| i feel like all i do now is plan where i'm going to eat next. luckily, this week is restaurant week in dallas. for some reason they only do dinner here and it ends up being $35 per person, rather than the $30.06 like it was in DC last year. but whatever, i suppose normal dinners at some of these places would more typically be in the $50-70 range.
so anyway, i went to nobu last night with my coworker. not incredibly impressed. my entree (broiled black cod with miso) was actually pretty good, if not a little too sweet, but the rest of the stuff (sushi, tempura, seaweed salad, dessert) was nothing spectacular. definitely a place of style over substance. tonight is dallas fish market. we'll see how that goes.
was talking to kiran last night and we just went on and on about food. so my question for today's xanga is what are your top 3 cuisines you enjoy/crave the most?
if you need help thinking here's a completely non-comprehensive list to jog some ideas: American Asian Barbecue Brazilian Cajun & Creole Californian Caribbean Chinese Colombian Cuban Deli Desserts Dim Sum Eastern European French German Greek Hungarian Indian Indonesian Irish Italian Japanese Korean Latin American Lebanese Mediterranean Mexican Middle Eastern Moroccan Pan-Asian & Pacific Rim Polynesian Seafood South American Southern & Soul Southwestern Spanish Sushi Tapas / Small Plates Tex-Mex Thai Turkish Vegetarian Vietnamese

| so if anyone remembers from a few months back, i gave up fried foods and hard alcohol for lent.. (that was mildly successful, i think i "accidentally" took a shot of jagermeister one night... and i didn't realize/admit to myself that tortilla chips were fried).... also, even before that my roommate zag and i have been on a challenge to work out at least 3 times a week with some financial consequences if either of us fail each week. turns out, i might need to do all that and a little more after a recent visit with my doctor. basically, he's a little concerned about making sure my blood sugar isnt too high since my both my parents come from a line where diabetes runs in the family... so since ive gotten the news a couple weeks ago, ive been running 5+ times a week for about 30 minutes a day, and really watching what im eating. stinks when you have a roommate (monica) who keeps making damn good food. argh. like yesterday, i was only able to eat half a double-chocolate-fudge-brownie cookie or whatever that delectable concoction was (nevermind that i ate a whole one this morning for breakfast... oops). but anyway, all this running and working out has actually not been as hard as working out was for me previously. there were weeks where i did all 3 of my workouts at the end of the week, but for some reason working out MORE is easier for me? maybe there's a deeper motivation for me now, but whatever... i think the real hard part is actually the food. i eat way too much... food is so good. i gotta find better healthier places to eat... so i guess thats the new challenge. work out more. eat better. live happier. yipeeeeeeeee!!
